Sandra Greenwood_ArtistBorn in Montreal, Quebec, Sandra Greenwood aspired to be an artist from an early age.  Many of her family members were sculptors, painters, and designers so the talent and appreciation of art was embedded in her life for as long as she can remember.  The quest to create beauty and the passion to envelop herself with colour and design has kept her wanting more.

Her love of glass started when she took stained glass lessons and began making pieces for family and friends.  She discovered a new love when, while on holidays in 2008, she met an artist creating jewelry out of molten glass.  This intrigued her so she went on to take a lampwork course in Toronto and has not looked back.  Her stained glass hobby now morphed into a hot glass business being run from her studio in Dundas, Ontario.  It is from this studio that she also teaches the art of lampworking, passing on this desire to design, create, and learn.

She is known for her detailed designs on her glass beads which range in all styles from bold and vibrant, to earthy and simple.  The use of colour, design and her attention to detail make each piece a unique and functional work of wearable art.

In 2011, Sandra’s work was published in the “Amazing Canadian Fashion” magazine… a highly circulated magazine sold nationwide and was also seen on local television and newspaper media a number of times.
