Casey Parsons – Portrettes
Drawings of Women
July 1-30, 2011
Opening reception Friday July 8, 7-9:30pm
After previously exhibiting Etudes at the Carnegie Gallery in 2007, Casey Parsons returns to show a collection of drawings in pastel, pencil and chalk of the women who seem to predominate in his portrait work. Like Eleanor Johnson, Casey wants his work to be “a consistent reminder of the beauty of seeing,” where subtleties of composition, dialogue and feeling come through direct observation of what he envisions as nature’s beauty in his subjects. Casey is a 2005 graduate of McMaster University, with additional training at Sheridan College in illustration, and the University of Western Ontario in teaching, specializing in visual art.
