Light and Shadow
New Works by the Women’s Art Association of Hamilton
September 7–30, 2012
Opening reception Friday September 7, 7-9:30pm
“The theme of Light and Shadow stimulates our senses and allows our imagination to run wild. For what lurks in the shadows, hidden by the absence of light? What rejoices in the pureness of that light, being exposed for all to see? Revel in the light and escape in the shadows.”
Juried by Katherine MacDonald, local artist, teacher, and Carnegie Gallery Artist Member.
The Women’s Art Association of Hamilton is a diverse group of local female artists. Since 1896, WAAH has been exhibiting at various galleries and locations in and around the city of Hamilton. Although over the years, the membership has changed, the aims of the Women’s Art Association of Hamilton have remained the same; dedication to nurturing a general interest in art, establishing scholarships, holding lectures, workshops, developing art and handicrafts.
