The ceramic vessel has always held a fascination for me from both a utilitarian perspective and as a decorative object. My work to this point has focused largely on making decorative functional work that straddles the line of utility and ornamentation. This form oriented, subtly animated work has taken inspiration from objects like gourds, and the female and male figure. Although functional by nature the work begs the question; does it belong on the table or on the mantel?

Clay provides the artist with an endless array of possibilities to explore artistic expression. I enjoy the continual pursuit of knowledge and skill development to challenge the mind and excite the senses.
