Mayfair Avenue, DundasTICKET DESCRIPTION: Ten years ago, this garden was a large plot of grass anchored by a black locust in the front yard and another in the back. Today it is a secret garden, meandering paths guiding the visitor through plantings of specimen lilacs, roses, magnolias, pines, dogwoods, and viburnum. The front, a shade garden, is underplanted with lilies, hostas, geraniums, and variegated vinca. The back, which is sunnier, contains several garden rooms. Note the plantings in the bins on the patio-- potatoes--and the wren who has set up residence in the birdhouse in the woodland garden by the shed. |
