Governor's Road, CopetownTICKET DESCRIPTION: Just under an acre and a half, this country garden contains a variety of settings: a natural pond filled with water lilies, a circular woodland garden leading to the 1885 house, formerly the Methodist manse, and then five garden rooms beyond. Twenty years ago the owners planted yew cuttings to create the three-foot thick walls that now separate the five rooms. Monica, inspired by English perennial garden design, planted the first room with twelve-foot-deep, sun-loving perennial beds, the herb garden in formal knots, and the vegetable garden, with greenhouse and composting bins, in tidy rows. Note the 200-year old maple in the front yard. |
