13. Kool Klay Kafé   Kool Klay logo

Ceramics are hot at the Kool Klay Kafé, a "paint it yourself ceramics studio and gallery", run by Gloria Mostyn. She also offers glass fusing and slumping workshops and creates for sale personalized wedding and special occasion platters, fused glass jewellery, bowls, etc., and hand-painted silk art. On display also will be the work of some local young aspiring artists.

5. McMaster Gallery and Custom Framing

(not included in the brochure) Bert Dorpmans, who has been running his custom framing business downunder at the Carnegie Gallery since fire damage of his original studio in the Old Stone Gallery at Bullock's Corners forced him to move, recently opened his own gallery in partnership with artist and restorer Guennadi Kalinine in the historic Merchant's Exchange Hotel building across from the former Dundas Town Hall. In addition to personalized custom framing, his services iinclude the display and sale of original artwork, restoration of artwark, frames and photos, appraisal of artwork, and custom photography. MORE DUNDAS AREA STUDIOS

Many of the artists and artisans in the Dundas area have studios in their own homes, which are open to the public by appointment and/ or during two main studio tours which have spring and fall events: Beyond the Valley Studio Tour and the Dundas Studio Tour. A number of area artists and artisans are also members of the Carnegie Gallery, where there work is displayed and sold. The 2008-2009 Dundas & Area StudioGuide, a free year-round printed guide to art and craft studios in and around Dundas, may be picked up at the Carnegie Gallery and other locations.
