Banner - About Arts Dundas

Arts Dundas is a four-day annual celebration every November of the visual, literary, and performing arts in the community of Dundas.

The first Arts Dundas weekend was organized in 1987, with the intent of raising awareness of the very active arts community in Dundas, Ontario, both amateur and professional in all disciplines. It would also provide visitors with an opportunity to meet the many artists and craftspeople and to enjoy different events in the lovely surroundings of our valley town (now the community of Dundas in the City of Hamilton). Arts Dundas has since become an annual event made possible by the staff and Board of the Carnegie Gallery.

VISUAL ART AND FINE CRAFT
This year there will be various demonstrations at three locations: the Carnegie Gallery, the Dundas Museum and Archives, and Eclipse Design Stained Glass. Several other private galleries/ studios will be open during their regular business hours (see the Galleries/ Studios page).

PERFORMANCE
This year's performances include the Dundas Little Theatre's production, "Collected Stories" by Donald Margulies and renditions of popular children's songs by the well-known local group, Turkey Rhubarb at the Dundas Library. Also later in November is the Clearly Classic Concert featuring Diana Panton and Friends.

Another important component of this event is the King Street Artwalk, which this year will feature poems by members of the Tower Poetry Society inspired by a variety of fine art/ craft works created by a Carnegie artist member. Both will be displayed in storefront windows on King Street.

Go to the Events/ Exhibitions page for a complete listing of what's on, where and when. Go to the Map page for locations and street addresses of the various venues.
