Fred Eaglesmith to Headline 2012/13 Freewheelin’ Concerts

Fred Eaglesmith 6 Volts album cover Tia McGraff The Marigolds Dave Gunning

The Carnegie Gallery will once again be the host venue for the Freewheelin’ Concert series. This is the sixth year and since the move to Dundas every show has been sold out. The 2012/13 series features the very best acoustic roots performers in Canada and North America. On Saturday September 22nd at 8 pm Tia McGraff comes to the Valleytown. While her name might not be as recognizable as some of the past performers, she has had great success in the southern states with her beautiful mix of country and folk. Her most recent CD hit #37 on the US americana charts. On Saturday November 3rd the unforgetable Fred Eaglesmith plays at the Spectator Auditorium. He recently performed on the Letterman show but don’t let his gravel tinged voice fool you. His songs and lyrics are eloquent and thought provoking. He’s also a funny and fabulous storyteller. After a winter break, The Marigolds, a trio of Suzie Vinnick, Catlin Hanford and Gwen Swick, will bring their amazing harmonies and folk, country, and blues songs to the Carnegie Gallery on Saturday March 23rd. And closing the series on Saturday April 20th will be East Coast entertainer of the year and Juno winner Dave Gunning, all the way from Pictou Nova Scotia. It’ll be a kitchen party that night right here in Dundas.

Subscription tickets are now for sale for $80 for all four shows; available in person at the Carnegie Gallery on by phone at 905-627-4265. The series is about half sold out already just by word of mouth. Individual tickets for each Carnegie concert are also available but the individual tickets for Fred Eaglesmith won’t go on sale until after September 22. Subscribers will receive preferred seating close to the stage and their tickets will be held for them at the door, that way they’ll never get lost. Dundasians don’t have to leave town to hear world class singer songwriters. They’re right here at the Carnegie Gallery.
